My sister is a Monkey! Her sense of humor is always on the ready and her practical jokes are Legendary! I\u2019d never thought to enter her birthday in the Tzolk\u2019in calendar calculator until I read a new description today of Chuen and it mentioned practical jokes.\u00a0 I thought, \u201cHey, that sounds like my sister!\u201d Checked it out and it was!!! LOL<\/span><\/p>\n

Let me give you a simple, recent\u00a0example. She works in a hospital setting, in a sleep apnea clinic. One evening in an office near hers, a doctor was working late. She knew it and was prepared.\u00a0 She hobbled in with only a sock on one of her feet.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

She said:\u00a0 \u201cOh Dr. F. I know you\u2019re not a foot doctor.\u00a0 But my foot is killing me. Could you please take a look?\u201d\u00a0 \u201dOh sure, J,\u201d he said, \u201cI\u2019d be glad to. Sit right down here.\u201d\u00a0 He cupped his hands and motioned for her to put her foot into them.\ufffd
\n\u201cI don\u2019t know what it is\u201d she said.\u00a0 \u201cMaybe a corn or something.\u201d
\nWhen the doctor removed her sock, very carefully so as not to hurt her foot, there he saw a piece of candy corn taped to her big toe!\u00a0 Of course, he just broke up.
\nHahahahahahah!\u00a0 \u201cI have always heard of your practical jokes\u2026.and now I have experienced one!\u00a0 You have made my day!\u201d he exclaimed.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cDo you think it\u2019s a corn then? \u201c J deadpanned.
\n\u201cYes, it\u2019s a corn,\u201d the doctor said still laughing.
\n\u201cThen do you think I should just gnaw it off?\u201d she continued.
\n\u201cYes,\u201d he said.\u00a0 \u201cJust gnaw it of!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Believe me.\u00a0 This is one of my sister\u2019s simpler practical jokes.\u00a0 Throughout the years, she\u2019s done some doozies, and whenever we gather at big family meals, we love to hear her recount them.<\/span><\/p>\n

But she is not just an Artiste of practical jokes.\u00a0 She can tell jokes artfully without butchering them\u2026like yours truly.\u00a0 She can mimic people and describe an incident that may not even seem funny to most people and make it hilarious.\u00a0 And she can diffuse a serious situation or brewing confrontations with a sweep of her clever tongue. I\u2019ve always thought she should have been a stand-up comic! My gosh.\u00a0 That girl is a Classic Chuen and it\u2019s been a treat to have her as a sister!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

My sister could have said what Maya Angelou said about herself: <\/span>My life has been one great big joke,
\nA dance that’s walked, A song that’s spoke, I laugh so hard I almost choke, When I think about myself<\/em>.<\/span> Gosh, maybe Maya is a Chuen too!\u00a0 I\u2019ll have to check it out. In the meantime,<\/span><\/p>\n
