Grandmother Parisha (also known as Parisha Taylor) \u00a0is my teacher…and when I joined\u00a0 her Medicine circle, I heard a wonderful song titled Hear the Wind Voices<\/strong>,<\/em> written by Parisha Taylor and Deb Adler.<\/em><\/p>\n

It goes like this:\u00a0 Hear the wind voices, Ride the river of your soul; Hear the wind voices, Ride the river of your soul and Become; Become; You have the sun within; You are the All that Is, Ride the silver river and Become<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n

The idea that we can hear voices in nature is certainly not new or isolated to the\u00a0native perspective.\u00a0 Take for example, the opening words of\u00a0 Thanatopsis<\/strong> by William Cullen Bryant.<\/p>\n

To him who in the love of Nature holds
\nCommunion with her visible forms, she speaks
\nA various language; for his gayer hours
\nShe has a voice of gladness, and a smile
\nAnd eloquence of beauty, and she glides
\nInto his darker musings, with a mild
\nAnd healing sympathy, that steals away
\nTheir sharpness, ere he is aware. <\/em><\/p>\n

Grandmother Parisha’s teaching on the Voices in the winds is no less poetic and, for me–as one who walks a spiritual path–they are deeply powerful, \u00a0clarifying, precise, literal, practical\u00a0and to the point! Here is a written teaching that she once distributed:<\/p>\n

Winds are the Breath of Life\u2026the movement of the great mystery. Anything ever communicated of importance will be communicated on the winds.\u00a0 The winds are birthed from the VOID. The wind we experience has moved through the entire body of the mystery.
\nThe winds bring us all that takes place in the earth. The stone people record all frequencies from the wind and they become the record keepers for the next generations. All messages on the wind come from the sun to you and, from you to the sun.
\nWhen you see winds present in everything around you, the Ancients have come and are talking and teaching you. Their words do not communicate through\u00a0 form because their frequencies are so fast.
\nWith the winds, every time you step outside, you are tasted -experienced. <\/em><\/p>\n

Take time every day to be with the winds and trees. It was because of the trees desire for companionship, that it went to the great mystery and asked for us\u2026man. The trees are our parents. The winds and trees bring us everything we need in life. <\/em><\/p>\n

WINDS FROM THE EAST:
\nTOUCHING YOU– use your inner senses and clear your mind to assist you immediately in your needs. When the wind is touching you, you are being intimately communicated to.
\nAROUND YOU– ask the Grandmothers and Grandfathers, \u201cwhat is it you would have me do?” What ever you feel stongly to act on or even have the slightest idea of, trust and act.<\/em><\/p>\n

WINDS FROM THE SOUTH:
\nTOUCHING YOU– analyze your actions, think over everything you just did or thoughts or actions about a person. Get out of your own way. Stop pretending\/being pretentious\/let go of the need to be important. Give yourself to creator\/surrender. Pay attention , listen to everything, everybody around you. Let creator speak to you through the mouth of a beloved.
\nAROUND YOU– go to where the wind is; it is telling you to \u2018come this way\u2019. Sit where the wind moves you to.<\/em><\/p>\n

WINDS FROM THE WEST:
\nTOUCHING YOU–check and see what is happening inside you right now. Urgency is indicated. You are being called upon to take action, strength and courage, act NOW.
\nAROUND YOU–an old one is coming to assist you, you are being offered strength.
\nIN FRONT OF YOU–as soon as you are aware of it, lay down, the wind will move over you. An old one is assisting you.<\/em><\/p>\n

WINDS FROM THE NORTH:
\nTOUCHING YOU– wisdom will come and other will assist and find you. The Grandmothers and Grandfathers are near and help is on its way.\ufffd
\nAROUND YOU– move physically in the direction the wind shows you and sit in that place. Watch everything and see what comes to you of your relations to council.<\/em><\/p>\n

WINDS FROM ABOVE\/DROP INS– Wind which comes from straight down on top of you.
\nA gift is there, a vision for you. Sit, be still, and let that vision unfold. Grandmother often experiences D\u00e9j\u00e0 vu during these visions.<\/em><\/p>\n

WINDS FROM ALL DIRECTIONS\/DANCING WINDS:
\nDo nothing. Sit down and activate patience, perimeters are being set.\u00a0 All of your medicines are circling you at this time. You are in the vortex, creative force.<\/em><\/p>\n
